From what I have researched, and information of earlier college teams like football, basketball really never come up. Thank you! :) History: Head Coach: Harvey R. Snyder Snyder returned to Ohio to coach Oberlin college football in 1906 and remained there for five seasons. Most notably, Snyder lead Oberlin to two Ohio Athletic Conference championships in 1909 and 1910. The Oberlin championship teams were led by star players T. Nelson Metcalf and Glen Gray. (Oberlin College Site: Hall of Fame) Captain of Football Team:Glen C. Gray  lettered in football, basketball, and track, setting the long jump mark in track (22') and earning the tag of "the best pitcher on campus." Following his graduation Gray coached the Oberlin football team to a 7-1 record (1912), outscoring their opponents 242-49. His two year coaching record at Oberlin (1911-12) was 13-2-1 (.896). Following his stint at Oberlin he coached at Washburn College in Topeka, Kansas, for three years. The Glen C. Gray Scholarship Fund was established many years ago by his friends to benefit an Oberlin student-athlete that plays more than one sport. A classmate of Gray's, J. Herbert Nichols starred at quarterback in 1910 and was captain of the basketball team in 1911. Ironically his coach was Glen C. Gray. Nichols also starred in baseball and succeeded Savage as director of athletics in 1935.
